Students enter the lower school excited and eager to do their best. Our goal at this level is to create classroom communities that foster a love of learning. Social and emotional needs are nurtured and cognitive abilities are developed on an individual basis. After identifying learning styles, teachers differentiate instruction to maximize each student’s potential. We believe young children learn best by participating in hands-on experiences that promote exploration and critical thinking. Our students are encouraged to share ideas and to learn from and with their peers as they solve problems. In offering a child-centered, experiential approach, we hope to inspire our students to become successful, lifelong learners.
Learning at Aryam School is guided by student interest and development, and national and international standards. We do not use Common Core standards, instead relying on the expertise of our highly qualified teachers and standards delineated by professional organizations such as the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the National Science Teachers Association, the National Council for the Social Studies, and the National Council of Teachers of English.
